One of the best restaurant in Budapest in the City Park

Városligeti Café & Bár anno 1895 was officially opened on 26 September 2013 in the renovated main premises of the City Park Ice Rink. It is a coffeehouse and bar that is situated in a historical setting and demonstrating traditional values, but that is still lovebly modern where guests can taste bistro food and listen to modern background music. The special features of the place include the freshly roasted Liget coffee that can be ordered from three different coffee beans, the exquisite Tányérhús and the unique historical view.

When you enter you will find yourself in a wide area, then at closer inspection you will most probably notice that the restaurant is divided into several smaller parts, thus you can have some privacy without banishing yourself to a confined corner. You can navigate between the parts surrounded by bookshelves, with various old and new books in it, while you have the opportunity to revel in traditional toys and sports equipment. Thanks to the large windows you always have the astonishing view in front of you, which, supposedly, even becomes more beautiful after nightfall.

We can say without any exaggeration that our coffeehouse has one of Budapest’s most beautiful terraces. While sitting on the terrace we are the part of a 21th century metropolis and a historic journey back to the beginning of the 19th century. The trees of the park, the historic buildings and the bustling Heroes’ Square creates a perfect atmosphere for relaxation and recreation. 80 guests can find comfortable seats on the terrace on classical white wroughtiron and wood chairs, while 12 guests can relax on lounge sofas made of cross-beams some hundred years old.
